Where an Etsy payout actually goes
A payout is what is left after several separate deductions come out of the same sale, not one line item. Here is every mechanism that can appear on a statement, in the order sellers most often get surprised by them.
- Offsite Ads fee:15% of the order, or a mandatory 12% once a shop's trailing 12-month Etsy revenue passes $10,000, capped at $100 per order. It only applies within a 30-day attribution window after a buyer clicks the ad, so a click from weeks earlier can still trigger the fee on today's statement.
- Transaction fee:6.5% of the item price plus shipping. This is charged on every sale regardless of how the buyer found the listing, on top of whatever Offsite Ads fee applies.
- Payment processing:3% plus $0.25 per order (US). This is a separate deduction from the transaction fee, calculated on the same item plus shipping total, for handling the payment itself.
- Listing fee:$0.20 per listing and again per renewal. It is charged whether or not the listing sells, so it shows up on the statement even in a slow month.
- Etsy Ads budget:Whatever daily budget a shop sets for onsite Etsy Ads. It is billed on its own schedule, separate from any per-sale fee, and lands in the same statement as a deduction.
- Shipping labels:Labels purchased through Etsy are deducted the day they are bought. They show up as their own line rather than being folded into a sale's fees.
- Subscription charges:Etsy Plus or Pattern subscriptions bill monthly. The charge lands in the same statement as every fee above, on its own billing date.
Refunds do not automatically reverse the transaction fee, and the payment account Activity log itemizes every one of these charges chronologically, so it is the fastest way to see which one drove a specific total.

One honest limitation: Etsy's statement links fees to orders inconsistently, so no tool reading the CSV can promise a complete per-order match. The explainer works at the category level, where the numbers are solid, and tells you when rows could not be categorized instead of guessing.

In Shop Manager go to Finances, then Payment account, then Monthly statements. Pick a month and download the CSV. The file has eight columns: Date, Type, Title, Info, Currency, Amount, Fees & Taxes, and Net. That exact export is what the explainer reads.
Is my statement uploaded to your servers?
No. The CSV is read entirely in your browser and the file never leaves your device. If you choose to save a month to your account, only the computed category totals are stored, never the statement rows, order titles, or buyer information.
Which fees show up in an Etsy monthly statement?
