An Etsy Fee Calculator That Itemizes Every Fee

On a US Etsy sale with no Offsite Ads, you pay a flat $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on your item price plus shipping, and 3% plus $0.25 for payment processing on that same total. If the sale came through an Offsite Ad, add 15% of the order (or 12%, mandatory, once your shop's trailing 12-month Etsy revenue passes $10,000), capped at $100 per order. Enter your own price and shipping below to see each fee itemized and your exact take-home.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

How much does Etsy actually take per sale?+

On a US listing with no Offsite Ads, Etsy takes a $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% of your item price plus shipping as a transaction fee, and 3% plus $0.25 of that same total for payment processing. On a typical order that lands around 10 to 12% of what the buyer paid, before any Offsite Ads fee. Use the calculator above to see the exact number for your own price and shipping.

Does Etsy charge fees on shipping, not just the item price?+

Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the 3% plus $0.25 payment processing fee are both calculated on the item price plus whatever you charge for shipping, not just the item price alone. Building shipping into your item price instead of charging it separately does not change the total fee, since both are taxed the same way.

Do I have to pay for Offsite Ads?+

It depends on your shop's trailing 12-month Etsy revenue. Under $10,000, Offsite Ads is opt-in: you can turn it off in your shop settings. At $10,000 or more, participation becomes mandatory, and the fee rate drops from 15% to 12%. Either way, the fee is capped at $100 per order and only charged when a sale is attributed to an Offsite Ad click.

Is the Offsite Ads fee ever capped?+

Yes. Etsy caps the Offsite Ads fee at $100 per order regardless of the order total, at both the 15% and 12% rates. On a high-value order, the effective Offsite Ads rate can end up well under 15% or 12% once the cap kicks in.
